Hello,
I have a Freelander 2 from 2007 with less then 100000km (90000km) and which started to show starting problems end of last November until it did not start at all anymore beginning of December 2010. The car always had its regular service by a Land Rover authorized dealer.
Since then (now more then one month ago) the car is sitting with a authorized Land Rover dealer in Gap (France) who after having changed the injectors came to the conclusion that the engine needs to be replaced because some metal piece sheared off and cut into the engine. Total cost 14000Euros which equals to about 11800GBP. I contacted the Land Rover customer service in France who proposed me to cover 66% of the cost and that the remaining 34% would need to be payed by myself.
Now based upon the content of my warranty benefits stating that I should have 3 year warranty OR less then 100000km I contacted the Land Rover customer service in France and the UK asking why the replacement of my engine is not being covered completely by Land Rover since my car has indeed less then 100000km.
Until up to know (after one week) I still have no feedback from neither customer services. I would like to have your feedback :
- if those costs are justified
- if the proposal to pay 34% myself is acceptable
- if not what would be my options to get this proposal changed/challenged
Thanks,
