Tata Motors reported that Land Rover total sales have increased by 42.3% for May 2010 at 15,181 units over May 2009.
"All global markets have shown an increase versus May last year... Sales have been improving consistently since the launch of the 2010 model year range, which boasts the latest, most efficient, and technologically advanced line-up for Land Rover in its history," said a Tata Motors spokesperson.
UK sales remained the highest contributor with sales climbing 64% to 3,040 units. North America was second with sales of 2,935 units, registering a 24% jump. China and Italy contributed with 2,026 units and 1,133 units, rises of 104% and 25.9% respectively (over May 2009).
In the UK, Freelander 2 continued to be the best-seller in last month with 60% improvement against May 2009. Range Rover became the highest growing model in May, showing a 121% improvement. Discovery 4 sales were up 87%, Range Rover Sport up 58% and Defender up 32%.
