How-To: Install Longer Bumpstops on a Discovery I

If you install taller tires or longer shocks on your Discovery then you may need to also install longer bumpstops.

Moe (last name unknown) has provided a written article with pictures on DiscoWeb.org detailing how to install longer bumpstops, which is about a 20 minute job.

Moe had lengthened the shocks on his 1996 Land Rover Discovery after installing spring retainers and taller tires, and by lengthening the shocks, he regained some drop but added the potential problem of the shocks bottoming out when the wheel is stuffed into the wheel well. To address problems that could occur with the shocks acting as bumpstops, he installed longer bumpstops made by Daystar.
