I'm here today at the Peterborough Land Rover show. My friend Barry Pogle? has got 12 Land Rovers all the same as this - this is Special Forces Land Rover.  You can see basically what they've done - they've cut the top off it -- they've taken the doors out -- all the extra weight is all gone - they put a heavy duty roll cage on. And most importantly, the armaments.  It's got two general purpose machine guns, one forward and one back.  50 caliber machine gun on the ring ?? will swing 360 degrees around the whole vehicle.

It's also equipped with a TOW anti-tank launcher for taking out a bit heavier stuff.

Under the bonnet, got a Rover 3.5 liter V8 - its a bit free you think - sounds gorgeous - ?? It was designed as a light strike vehicle - so this is not a long range vehicle - it is just to get in hit the enemy get out. Left hand drive obviously.

This was made for the American Ranger market. When they went to Kosovo, they found the American Rangers were using Humvees - they couldn't get down half the roads in Kosovo. So the Rangers went to Land Rover and said "Could you make us something a bit smaller?"  And Land Rover obliged. This is one of three prototypes built - this is the V8 version.  The American Rangers in the end bought 150 units that are in use.

This is one of the general purpose machine guns.  It's a medium sized weapon, but definitely a troop stopper.  Got loads of ammunition around the back of it, this will quite happily supply any firefight. It's a totally automatic weapon - it can do continuous fire for over 30 seconds.

Also got a TOW anti-tank launcher, this is a man portable weapon. Put it on your shoulder, get down on one knee, press a button, take a tank out - any size.
